Troutman, NC

troutman-nc

Troutman is one of the smaller suburbs north of Charlotte, located in Iredell County, NC.  The town gets its name from one of the original families to settle and own large tracts of land in the area and received a town charter in 1905.  It is located on the northern part of Lake Norman and east of the Catawba River.

Troutman’s location makes it an excellent location for commuters looking to get out of larger areas and live in a small town.  Its proximity to Interstate 77 and Interstate 40 allows for commuters to have quick and easy access to Statesville, Charlotte, Hickory and more.

Troutman’s close proximity to Lake Norman and the Charlotte metro area has led to the town’s rapid growth.  The town has nearly doubled in the last decade and the growth shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.  The town's population growth in recent years has been outpacing the state of North Carolina’s growth threefold.

Housing Market

While Troutman is currently a smaller town, it is beginning to develop rapidly.  There are several builders with housing developments currently under construction.  One of them is Weathers Creek by Ryan Homes.  Another property currently under development is Falls Cove at Lake Norman by Lennar.  Both of these properties are very popular due to their close proximity to downtown Troutman and I-77.  A new development that is in the works for 2023 is Smith Village Ranches by Ryan Homes.
