Locust, NC

Locust-NC

Located near highways 27 and 601 in Stanly County, Locust is one of the fastest growing cities in not only the county, but the entire state of North Carolina.  As a location commutable to Albemare, Concord, and Charlotte, the area has seen impressive growth in the past decade and doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon.

In the past 2 years since the 2020 Census, the town has grown on average 3.4% per year, with an estimated growth of 25.5% overall in the combined past 5 years.  That's tremendous when compared to Charlotte, which only saw a little under 2% growth rate each year during that same time period.  The large boom in population, which still maintaining modest land prices, has also caught the attention of developers.  Commercial growth is growing as rapidly over the next 18 months (2023-2024) as it did in the past 10 years combined!  That's a lot of growth!

The city is also permitting double the number of new homes than they typically have.  Additional home approvals by the city are part of their larger plan to continue attracting more commercial investments in the area.  We anticipate a continued strong growth in this area of greater Charlotte for years to come.
